The Alliance Theatre is offering summer camps for teenagers to explore the art of theatre and learn new skills.

Performing Arts Camps

Stage Craft, June 3-7

Overview of the technical elements of theatre led by Alliance Theatre staff & crew.

Auditioning, June 10-14 or July 15-19

The basics of preparing for auditions; exploring do’s and don’ts, monologues, cold reading.  The camp will culminate in a mock audition on the final day.

Puppeteering, June 17-21

An overview of puppeteering, including building and manipulation of hand and rod puppets and hand puppets.

Stage Combat, June 24-28 or July 29 – August 2

An introduction of the basics of stage combat including safety and partner work.  Students will present fight scenes on the final day.

Improv, July 22-26

An exploration of improv techniques culminating in a showcase on the final day.

Musical Theatre Camps

The Hunger Games, June 24-28

Musical Mash-Up: 80s Tribute from District drama – Inspired by The Hunger Games Trilogy and music of the 80s.

A Chorus Line, July 1-12

The Audition – Inspired by A Chorus Line, using the student’s own audition material and writing, this camp culminates in a fun behind-the-scenes style showcase.

Barry Manilow, July 29 – August 2

Musical Mash-Up – Inspired by the music of Barry Manilow in celebration of the upcoming Alliance Theatre production of Harmony.
