Name: Paige J. (Teen Press Corps Member!)
Hometown: Marietta, GA
Hi everyone! I’m Paige! I’m 18 years old and a senior. I’ve lived in Marietta, Georgia for ten years now after previously living in Utah, England, and Arizona.
I’m a trombonist, a writer, but most importantly a photographer. I became interested in photography during my freshmen year; I followed the footsteps of my dad, who is my inspiration. I love taking pictures of people, especially when they don’t know that I’m taking it. I’m the main photographer for my school’s yearbook. I attempt other forms of art, but then I realize I should stick to photography.
During the summer between my junior and senior year, I took a photojournalism course at George Washington University where I met a photographer that has permanently set my passion for photography, my teacher and National Geographic photographer, Karen Kasmauski. Without her, I wouldn’t be doing what I love every day.
Random facts about me: My favorite bands are Green Day, Coldplay, and the Mowgli’s. Some of my favorite books are Looking for Alaska, Oryx and Crake, The Road, Song of Solomon, Catch-22, etc. Monet and Banksy are my favorite artists. I want to study international relations in college next year.
