ASO Glee Club

There is one instrument all people are able to play instantly… the human voice!  Join other participants who love to sing, learn about the basics of music, and perform a vast range of music selections.

Location:  Woodruff Arts Center

Date:  Tuesdays – March 5, 12 & 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30

Instructor:  Kathy Kelly-George

Times & Age:  Grades 4 -6:  6:30-7:30 PM;  Grades 7 – 12:  7:30-8:30 PM

Costs:  Tuition – $120

Class Requirements:  Min. of 6 students registered

 

Beginning Strings

Learn to play an instrument!  In a group setting, participants will learn the basic elements of music, how to read music, and how to play one of the following instruments:  violin, viola, or cello.

Locations:  Woodruff Arts Center

Date:  Mondays – March 4, 11 & 25, April 8, 15, 22 & 29, May 6

Instructor:  Judith Cox

Times & Ages:  Grades 4 – 6:  6:30-7:30 PM

Costs:  Tuition – $120; Materials Costs – $20 (music)

Class Requirements:  Min. of 6 students registered; students must provide their own instrument

 

Music Theory I

Introduce yourself to the theory of music.  Participants will learn about clefs, major and minor scales, intervals, chords and the basics of music theory.  Dictation and sight-singing will also be reviewed.

Location:  Woodruff Arts Center

Dates:  Saturdays – March 16 & 30, April 13, 20 & 27, May 4, 11 & 18

Instructor:  Jerid Morisco, D.M.A.

Times & Ages: Grades 7 – 12:  1:30-2:30 PM

Costs: Tuition – $120; Material Costs – $50 (theory text and workbook)

Class Requirements:  Min. of 6/Max. of 12 students registered; students registering must be able to read music
